Session 22: The Rise of Imperium OG

2/10/24 The morning starts with Imperium OG having a drink and a smoke at The Worn Boot, a crackhead punk rock bar outside of Brightoni. They are inaugurating 2 new members to the group. Zorkar a magic user from Paradiso, and Greg McConner who came from the old world with The Bonz. (Session 1) Gunther has been in communication with The Viceroy of Brightoni, and has made a deal to help him and his men clear out the homeless camp outside of Brightoni which has doubled in size over time due to lack of player interest. (Session 17) It has basically become an open air drug market for crack, and fentanyl. The homeless have also been panhandling in Brightoni during the day and defecating in the streets, yes its basically California. Gunther promised the Viceroy they would attempt a peaceful negotiation, however the party is mostly okay with killing the entire camp. Gunther, Zorkar, Greg, and their hirelings are selected as the diplomats. They will bring The Bonz's mule which is loaded with putrid eggs into the camp and use the eggs to bribe the homeless' leader, if they even have one.

The Bonz and Little Jacob are going to wait outside the city with the Viceroy's men. If negotiations break down, two groups of 20 men at arms with spears and shields in chainmail will charge the camp and remove them by force! The party sends in the diplomatic delegation. They are defending the mule and magic user carefully. Homeless start to gather around the party asking for food and money. Zorkar starts handing out eggs, which attracts more homeless. Quickly about 30 homeless surround the party and they are starting to get nervous. They hand out even more eggs and naturally even more homeless come out. The crowd starts cheering," EGGS! EGGS! EGGS! EGGS!" There are now about 100 homeless around the party and they are getting a little rowdy. Zorkar starts to give a speech to rizz up the crowd, he makes a reaction roll and at first it goes great. That is until he says they need to relocate and makes a very bad reaction roll. The cheers swiftly turn to boos. The crowd starts throwing trash, and yell," Get Sweety! Get Sweety!" Gunther has had enough and yells at the crowd to fall in line, getting louder boos.

A very loud and angry man is brought up to speak with the party. He introduces himself as Sweety, and then instantly proclaims that he isn't gay. his momma named him Sweety and you don't get to pick your name. The party, unconvinced about his sexuality, decides this is the leader of the homeless. Hell they even brought him up to speak for them. Zorkar casts charm person on Sweety and thanks to his low intelligence of 9, he is charmed for a month. (3/10/24) They ask Sweety to get the homeless to relocate someplace else. He says he doesn't really rule the homeless, he just has a small crew of armed homeless that do what they want in the camp. He says the homeless came here because the Viceroy is kind and will not enslave the homeless like the oligarchs in Paradiso. He says if he can use the eggs to calm down the homeless maybe he can convince them to leave. All the eggs are handed out and the crowd starts to settle but when the thought of relocating is brought up again the homeless become worse. The party makes the decision to leave and starts to head out. 8 random homeless armed with clubs attempt to attack the party as they head out of the town. Combat begins and half the homeless are wiped out in the first round. The party with the guards notice the rioting in the camp and decided negotiations have gone off the table. They charge the camp in a pincer attack. The charge beats the party and the homeless they were fighting 4 guards show up to their area and eliminate the homeless. The party leaves town and watches the blood shed as homeless are slaughtered and chased into the jungles. mission accomplished. they search the remains of the camp and find 1,900 copper, fentanyl, and crack. Little Jacob uses plant growth to help restore some of the land damaged from the battle and pollution left behind. They collect a mere 580 gold from the Viceroy, however he offers them a bigger score. 5,000 Gold if they clear out an ettin layer. They have also been causing a massive headache for the Viceroy, (Session 11) and he even says they can have half upfront to prepare. The party accepts the deal and brings another 2,500 gold with them. The Viceroy will send his man Bruce Killis with 10 archers and 10 pikemen to aid the party.

2/11/24 The party mulls over the idea of skipping town with the 2,500 gold but they got a good thing going with the Viceroy so the decide to keep their end of the bargain and go to meet up with Bruce Killis and his men. They make it to the spot and Bruce explains they will have to search the jungle till the find the exact location of the lair. The party rolls well and is able to find the lair quickly. It is a ettin made cave supported with tree trunks dug into the side of a hill in a depression. There is a large pile of bones and dead fruit tries outside the lair.

The party was given basic info from the Viceroy regarding ettins. They are nocturnal so the party thinks they can catch them by surprise since its about 2pm. Little Jacob sends his anaconda in to scope out the lair and report back. What the party doesn't know is only 1 ettin head sleeps at a time so the snake is easily spotted. Yum a late day snack! They make quick work of the serpent with 1 round of surprise. The party hears noises and smashing but the ettins do not come out. The party comes up with a plan. It involves blowing horns to wake the monsters, then snaring an ettin, hopefully tripping another with a thick rope, afterwards flaming arrows will rain down and oil will be on the ground to engulf them in flames. They plan starts well, horns blows ettins start to leave the lair and one is ensnared by the druids spell. They 2 other ettins are not tripped by the rope. (1 in 6 chance) They do step into the oil not realizing it. Its initiative again and again the party really needs to win this. They do, a fairy fire and curse spell go off, and the flaming arrows rain down on the ettins standing in oil. They focus on 1 ettin but they both light up from the oil on the ground. The focused ettin is turned into a flaming pincushion and killed. The pikes move in to poke the living ettin over the flames. They land some hits but not enough. The free ettin retaliates and smashes 2 different pikemen, dead. Next round and party rolls hot winning initiative again. The pikes clean up the burring ettin whilst the party executes the ensnared ettin with Gunther dealing the finishing blow. They search the lair and find 3,000 Copper, 10,000 Silver, 2,000 Gold, and a mace that Zorkar casts detect magic causing it to glow. They load up the dinosaur and head back to Brightoni to collect the rest of their reward. The Viceroy also grants them the right to purchase and own land in Brightoni for everything they have done to help the town.

2/12/24 Gunther decides its time to finally fallow the map given to him by the Train Devil. (Session 8) He tells the rest of Imperium OG about the map and shows them as proof. They agree to start an expedition to the location on the map. First they will have to get to Paradiso for supplies and to charter a ship to help expedite the mission. They pay 1 gold for each member and 10 for the dinosaur and head down river.

2/14/24 - 3/1/24 The party arrives at Paradiso and plans for the expedition. The Bonz takes 2 weeks to train to level 3. Gunther hires 20 men at arms and equips them. Little Jacob hires another druid for the Imperium OG and then goes to the exotic animal market to purchases a young crocodile. He casts animal friendship upon and then spends a week training to to sneak attack from water. Greg gets a couple more men and manages to charter 2 ships for 500 gold to drop them off on a one way trip. Zorkar says he needs to part ways with the party but will return after he takes care of some personal business. The party loads up on the 1st and sails close to the location on 2 animal trader ships.

3/5/24 As the ships approach the drop off point, a ship is spotted at anchor out in the distance. It flies a pink and blue flag with a Jolly Rodger that says SHOOOOOSH! The ship has Arigato! written on the side. This is the ship of Captain Akira Tozawa, a loyal fallower of the pirate Lord Chad Gable, Admiral of the Alpha Academy Fleet. The ship captain refuses to go any further for fear of attack. He allows them to take several small boats to land as they ships head back to Paradiso. Once a shore, the party sees several pink and blue boats beached with a large amount of tracks heading into the jungle, the same direction Imperium OG is going. They fallow the map and head into the jungle. They have no encounters for the rest of the day and night.

3/6/24 Imperium OG continues fallowing their map. What they are looking for should be close. The party can see smoke rising up from the canopy in the distance. Little Jacob sends out his hawk to scope out the cause of the smoke. After a couple of hours the hawk returns. Little Jacob then casts speak with animals to speak with the hawk about what it saw. The hawks says their is some kind of wooden palisade with 2 wooden buildings and a watchtower. There are about 40 armed men and 9 people in a cage. They have a large fire and have constructed some kind of wrestling ring where they are wrestling each other. There is also a huge hole excavated into the ground revealing a giant stone door.

Gunther knows the Alpha Academy are Lawful Evil and thus obey the pirate code, set by The Pirate King Captain Macho Savage Beard. They have a comparable force and maybe challenging them to a wrestling match is the way to go. It will certainly prevent loss of troops. They approach the camp openly. they get to the gate of the camp, it is overgrown and has a old sign that reads, Scaramucci Mining CO. Armed men man the walls and men in the watchtower blow a horn. Captain Tozawa appears on the wall and is surprised to run into such a large party out here. He asks if the group is after the bounty on his head. Gunther says no, and that they are here for the treasure inside the dungeon. Tozawa has been trying to access the dungeon but cannot. He must prove himself with in a worthy match for the stone doors to open. Gunther then proposes a challenge.

The terms are he will have a solo match for one fall between Captain Tozawa. Winner gets claim to the camp and dungeon. Loser must leave and surrender all belongings. Captain Tozawa accepts since no one has even seen or heard of Gunther wrestling. (He has never used unarmed combat table) They are allowed in the camp and given a hour to prepare. He is also allowed to have 1 person ringside with him. Gunther checks out the prisoners and sees a bald one who appears to be a wrestler. His name is Giovani. He is from Paradiso and his small pirate crew were killed by Tozawa and he was taken prisoner. Pretty soon its time for the match to begin. Gunther selects The Bonz to walk out ring side with him. An epic match ensues with many counters. The match starts back and forth till Gunther performs a Boston Crab from a powerful grapple roll. He then decided to go for some chops and starts pummeling Tozawa. After a chop fest Tozawa is very weak barely damaging the Ring General. A final massive chop puts Tozawa at -2 HP and allows Gunther to get the pin. A clean victory and one that causes the great stone doors of the dungeon to slightly open. Tozawa accepts his defeat and gives the party a treasure map of their booty and the 9 prisoners to ensure they leave with their lives. Gunther roasts Tozawa and then allows him and his men to leave. They fallow the map and dig up the treasure. They decide to turn the old mining camp into a base of operations so by bringing the treasure their they get the XP for it.
