Session 25: The NecroJack's Soylent Factory

The Holy Boys in Dublin finally find the location of the Soylent's production.

3/3/24 The party leaves in the morning to head to the Cave of Soyjack. They want to explore the third level of the dungeon and find out what is going on down there. They make it to the dungeon with no encounters. The party takes the secret staircase to floor 2 located under a large rock on a hill above the main entrance of the dungeon.

They enter the dungeon and then start to go in the wrong direction of the stairs to level 3. They enter the room that had the secret door that opens with the rubies in the correct eye slots. The room is not empty but instead has a group of bandits trying to take the rubies. The party has a good reaction roll and are able to convince the bandits to drop their weapons and leave the rubies in exchange for their lives. The bandits not seeing a combat victory in sight.

The party continues through the secret door and wonders back into another familiar room. This room has a crane over a magical cyst, like the one on level 1, and large crates of Soylent fill the room but with much less than they remember from last time. The party will come back here later to bring some of this stuff to Court Wizard of The Irish Candyman, Bong Weasley.

The party eventually heads back and on the right tract. When they come to the room with the large metal door, the party remembers using they key they got last time to open the door. They unlock it and head down to level 3.

This level is very humid. It has an unpleasant odor that lingers in the air, and a strange mechanical hum echoes through the dungeon's halls. The first chamber at the bottom of the stairs has had some giant fire beetles move in thanks to restocking the dungeon. Combat is short and clean for our heroes.

As they continue they find a sitting room housing a large black statue with large emeralds for eyes. It depicts a hooded Wojack with a pentagram on its forehead. It is casting some kind of spell as soyjacks bow at his feet. They try to remove the emeralds but are unable. The party, wishing they had Lucky Bowmen III with them today, sadly has to give up and come back when they have a thief.

They travel around and find a storage room full of soy and another full of... extract. They travel around and eventually decide to fallow the humming they have been hearing.

They come to a door at the end of a hall and go to open it. They pass and to their horror, see the extraction process being conducted on 3 coomers with 2 soyjacks operating the devices. The soy boys win surprise and use this round to unhook 2 of the coomers from the devices to help them destroy the intruders. An important initiative check is rolled. Sadly the party loses initiative so the coomers are able to cut off the party allowing a soy boy to unhook the third coomer from the device as the others engage. The battle was the high point of the session. No one in the party was killed but it could of gone either way. They search the room and find 7,000 copper, 3,000 silver, 4 potions, and a gem. The party does the taste test on the potions and 1 is a poison. The party benefits due to me over glancing me having it possibly kill them. ( They will not be so fortunate next time) The party pushes forward to the next room.

The Extractor

The party enters an octagonal room filled with shelves all full of bottles with fresh extract. A sign on the wall says "The Coompository." The room smells and his very hot. The loud humming they have been hearing is coming from a door to the North of the room.

They open the door which leads to the factory floor of the Soylent Factory. It is filled with large vats and Soyjacks working at various sections of the facility. Their are a lot of soyjacks working the floor, so the party closes the door unnoticed and spikes the door closed.

They find another room after awhile that has a massive statue with in depicting the succubus the party has sworn to kill. They keep exploring and come to a door with a teleportation trap scattering the party throughout the dungeon. It takes a while but they find a way to regroup. They get back to the giant statue room and continue forward. They come to a long hallway and a hireling sets off a pendulum trap before a door killing him. They decide to be more cautious and tap ahead with a spear in case they encounter another trap. They do and it ends still killing 2 hirelings but no one major was killed. (Rats!) The party decides to head back to Dublin. They make it out of the dungeon without any encounters and camp over night before heading home with no encounters.

3/4/24 The party heads back to Dublin but gets an encounter. I decided its the bandits back with clubs attempting to mug the party on their way back. No one is surprised and the party makes quick work of the men. The battle wasn't anything to write home about. after getting to town the party hires a bunch of porters to help them pull crates out of Soylent out of the dungeon for Bong Weasley to use for research.

3/5/24 The party pulls out 5 crates of Soylent with the help of the porters and brings them back to Dublin with no encounters.

6/6/24 The party makes it to The Irish Candyman's Candy Factory and turn in the creates to Bong Weasley with no encounters. He gives them 500 gold pieces per crate, 2,500 gold pieces total. Then the party ditches the porters to work at the factory.

6/7/24 The party makes it back to Dublin with no encounters.
