Session 39, Part A: Candy Castle Creepy Crawlers!
Featuring: The Holy Frenchmen of Dublin
The first part of the session takes place back at the Candy Castle in Dublin, Brovenloft. They enter the dungeon to find a group of 12 orcs taking refuge and scouring for food. They are easily dispatched by the party due to its sheer size plus the number of Henchmen. They lost their map and have to start fresh this session.
They again trigger the wall trap and it separates pigs and 3 spearmen from the party like last time. They try to find a way around but find the stairs going down and eventually become distracted and descend to level 2.
On Level 2 they find a giant taffy spitting snake. They are fortunate they only found 1 and manage to escape with no deaths and they take a candy cigarette fang from the monster. They eventually stumble upon a mysterious cook book written by one "Miss Brittle" in magic language. They take it for latter research.
They then get an encounter with 2 giant cotton candy spiders but the spiders win 5 rounds of surprise. This is when the presumed TPK took place with only one party member able to retreat with some men at arms. Poison and surprise is a hell of a combo, even for high level PCs.
After review we realized the giant spiders were evil alignment unlike every other spider which is considered neutral. The paladin has protect from evil and the cleric had a protection from evil enchanted armor he had made during down time.
The retcon is made within the appropriate 24 hour period if something is a miss so I rule the Cleric and Paladin were able to servive but the dead henchmen and hirelings will remain in the grave.
Treasure & XP:
48 Electrum - 24 XP
The Art of The Nut by Miss Brittle - Value ??? - ??? XP (Determine if Sold)

Session 39, Part B: Enter The Trap House!
Featuring: The Spooky Boys
The fellas decide they want to roll some new characters. I'm itching for them to play in my grimdark setting again and they take me up on it. First up we have a barbarian of a horsemen tribe known as The Nightmares from the Northern Badlands. He has his face paint to resemble a skull. Looks like no magic user or cleric for the party. This also gives him some knowledge of the Badlands and its inhabitants like "The Crooked" but nothing useful for this session.
We also have a thief who is a local of Spectrel Oram from the capital of Relicta. Relictans have very pale skin with white to grey hair and are incapable of expressing emotions. The third member is a female ranger played by a guy. Very Gay in my opinion but that's his decision. She is from the old world seeking a new life as an independent women in the new world, YUCK!
The Adventurers' Guild is still being protested by the grave robbers union for taking jobs away from them. This time they have a job outside of tomb raiding. People have been going missing in Relicta by an old manufacturing district. The amount of people that have disappeared has to be part of something nefarious so the party investigates.
They find an abandoned trap factory named Mausers' Traps. They search the inside and the thief finds a functioning bear trap. Looking in the back the crew finds a metal double door leading down below the building. They descend down to see what is going on.
They explore and first find a door leading to a room full of shoes of men women and children. Something fishy is happening down here. They explore and begin to hear the sound of running water. They hang left at a Y intersection and come to a door. Inside they find it infested with rats. They slay the vermin and find some sacks of silver.
They continue and hear the sound of water getting louder. They stumble into a room with 3 fire beetles and make quick work of them. The next room appears to be some sewer stream and 4 Giant Toads have taken up residence and are ready for lunch. Again the party is victorious. They see the sewer steam continues through a barred off passage. The barbarian bends the bars and scouts ahead a little bit to see what lays ahead since he isn't in heavy armor. He travels and once the current really starts picking up he decides to turn back. The party decided to call it here so they leave and we end the session.

2,200 Silver - 110 XP
Bear Trap - No XP - If set will activate on the roll of a 1 on 1d6 if square stepped on. If activated, deals 1d6 damage and will halve targets speed until after 1 week of rest.

4 Giant Toads - 362 XP
